Welcome Back!

I am so excited to be bringing you our first interview of the monthly beauty series. For the first month, I chose someone I have looked up to for beauty inspiration, creative inspiration, and more importantly her kindness and acceptance of all people. She has easily become very important to me throughout the many years of getting to know her. She's BADASS guys. Keep reading to see exactly why she was one of the first people who came to my mind while creating my long and worthy list of interviews to come.

Hi guys! I’m Molly and I’ve loved Little Budget Beauty since its inception! I’ve always been a fanatic for all things beauty (coming from a family of almost ALL females, how could I not?). I think taking the time to invest in your skincare, and everyday beauty routine is a wonderful form of self-care and love, and a way to express ourselves. When you feel good, it shows ❤️

What is your every day beauty routine (AM/PM)?

AM- I’ve started using this new skincare line called Acure Organics and I’m L.O.V.I.N.G. it. I use the Brilliantly Brightening products, including the gel cleanser every morning and it gives my skin the best boost (seriously after one use I saw amazing results, and I never say that about anything!). It’s made with natural ingredients and their products are all USDA organic. I’ve been making a conscious effort to try to buy products with mostly natural ingredients when I can - I think it can make such a difference in our daily lives! It’s crazy when you read about some of the ingredients that are in the things we put on our skin and in our bodies (check out the app “Think Dirty” and thank me later). That being said, I still use some products that probably aren’t the best for me, but are just TOO good to give up (fingers crossed we get there someday)! I’ve also really been loving Thayer’s Witch Hazel Alcohol-Free Toner Mist, which I use after cleansing! It makes my skin feel extra clean and moisturized. I then use Acure’s day cream and it just makes my skin feel really even and prepped for

The first makeup product I apply is IT Cosmetics Your Skin But Better CC+ Cream Illumination (in light?). I love the coverage and actually have been using it as my foundation now that we’re getting into summer and I like my foundation to feel more lightweight (and it’s SPF 50 - major bonus!). I just use one pump and rub it in with my fingers et voila. I then use Tarte Cosmetics Double Duty Shape Tape Contour Concealer as a primer on my lids, and later for concealer on my under eyes and t-zone. For eyeshadow I've been using the Urban Decay Naked Smoky palette. I almost always use a lighter, almost nude shade and buff it into the entire lid (Combust in this palette), then apply a brown or bronze shadow in the crease (Whiskey), and always finish with a shimmery layer on the very tops of my lids (High). This usually goes for day and nighttime makeup, I’ll just amplify a little for nighttime, and add a little more of the Whiskey color to my top lash line! I use Anastasia Beverly Hills Dipbrow on my brows in medium brown (though they are also micro bladed - I just like that really clean, crisp look).

Then I BRONZE. I have been using Too Faced Sweethearts Bronzer in "Sweet Tea" to bronze and contour. I’ve used contour kits and, ladies, let me tell you. Don’t waste your money. Call me old school but all you need is an angled brush (I honestly just squeeze my bronzer brush to make it thin/angled) and some good bronzer and you’re set. I apply a little bit of Tarte Amazonian Clay Blush in “Paaarty” to the apples of my cheeks - this blush has the prettiest pigment and is great for any type of look. And I always finish with Becca Cosmetics Shimmering Skin Perfector Pressed Highlighter in "Champagne Pop". It always gives me the perfect glow - don’t forget to add some to the inner corners of the eyes! FINALLY, mascara. I have been using Maybelline Great Lash (pink tube) mascara that I seriously think I got at Dollar General for the past few months and it is the BEST. You don’t need some crazy expensive mascara to give you that dramatic look. To finish off with lips, I usually just use a NYX soft matte lip cream during the day (my favorite color is Cairo) with their butter gloss over top (usually in Tiramisu). Im all about the nudes!

PM- At night I take my makeup off with either the Acure cleanser or good old Dove bar soap (my mom worked for a dermatologist for 12 years and they swore by the stuff). Burt’s Bees Facial Cleansing Towelettes in "White Tea" are my favorite and are really easy on the skin. Acure night cream has been doing wonders for my skin (again - two thumbs up for this entire product line so far). And almost every night I’ve been applying 100% pure castor oil on my lash lines, and sometimes under the eye as well. It’s basically a natural remedy for stunted or broken lashes (I needed a quick fix when I let my lash extensions grow out!) and it. is. a. godsend. I’m telling you, after 2-3 weeks my lashes were back to normal, and NOW they’re twice as long. If you need a boost, give it a try, but make sure what you buy is 100% pure organic, hexane-free, cold-pressed castor oil.

What is the one product you could never life without?
So this is one of those products that will probably end up giving me cancer someday, but St. Tropez Self Tan Classing Bronzing Mousse is hands down the best self-tanner I’ve ever used. I use it once or twice a week and it gives me the most perfect, even glow - especially for those longggg winter months here in upstate NY. And since I won’t EVER get in a tanning bed again, and try to be super careful when I’m out in the sun, this is a great way to stay bronzed whenever you need a little boost. Make sure you use an applicator mitt with it (just grab a couple at Ulta and wash them like the day after you use it with soap and water) and moisturize your feet and hands beforehand!

Lipstick or Lipgloss?
Lipstick. Always.

Liquid or Powder Foundation?
Liquid! I like NARS All Day Luminous Weightless Foundation because it’s super lightweight, but a little goes a long way.

Liquid or Pencil Eyeliner?
Usually liquid. Still hunting for my favorite though! I usually use Stila or NYX felt tip liners. I honestly just use dark shadow as a "liner" more than anything!

Falsies or Mascara?
UGH. I am a ride or die lash extension girl, BUT they can be pricey and mama’s on a budget right now. I honestly can’t be bothered with falsies / strip lashes, but I love the look!

What is one beauty tip that you would like to share with everyone?
It is so cliché, but embrace your natural beauty. For years I fought my curly hair, and used makeup in the WORST ways (high school was rough for all of us, am I right?). I over-lined, used way too much of the wrong colors for EVERYTHING. And didn’t know what the fuck to do with my eyebrows. Of course, we mature as we grow older, but I could have saved myself so much time and energy had I just listened to mother and stopped spending every morning picking myself apart in the bathroom mirror. I seriously dream of teaching a workshop for young girls about self-love and how to use makeup as a tool to enhance their beauty, not hide it. 💗

What is your first memory when it comes to makeup?
My oldest sister used to dress me up, and pretty much anyone else she could get her hands on, and make us all act in these crazy skits (she’s a comedy writer in LA now, it was always meant to be). I specifically remember her dressing me up as Ginger Spice with this ridiculous orange wig and bright red lipstick - I was probably 4 😂

What is your favorite part of your routine?
Skin care has taken on a new meaning for me this year. I love seeing how much my skin has transformed just by using better products and paying close attention to what my skin needs and reacts to. It really affects how makeup looks on your skin too!

If you could have anyone do your makeup, who would it be?
I’m going to give some local "Rochestarian" love and say Angelina Palermo of Blush Beauty Bar (@mua_angelinapalermo)! She is my lash goddess, and I’ve known of / followed her on social media for years, but have never had my makeup done by her!

Alright guys, now its time to go show our girl some love on IG (@molly_hannon) so you can continue to follow along with her life as a beauty lover, a studio manager, a dog mom, and an amazing partner to her guy James.

Until next time,

New Announcement/Monthly Series | May 2018

Welcome Back!

As you can see from the title, I've decided to start my first ever monthly beauty series. With some help and encouragement from some friends, I have decided to do a monthly interview with every day people, to show you the differences and similarities within our beauty routines. Every month I will choose a person whose beauty inspires me, and together, we will break down their beauty routine. I'm super excited to start this new project, and to share it with you! For our first month, I figured I would share with you my beauty routine from start to finish.

What is your every day beauty routine (AM/PM)?
AM- When I wake up in the morning, the first thing I do is brush my teeth. I work full time at a desk job, so I usually don't wear makeup because I don't have much face to face contact. I wash my face in the morning with my favorite purity face wash by Philosophy, and finish with a toner. I use one from Mario Badescu at the moment, but I really try to find one with Witch Hazel in it to get rid of blemishes gently. I then put on my moisturizer, I have been using the same daily moisturizer for a couple years now by Garnier mentioned in my skincare routine post. When my face is feeling a bit more dry than usual I will use a face oil instead to truly soak up as much moisture as possible. Next, I apply my eye cream. This is ever changing because I am trying to find one that I can't live without. No matter what, I always use clear brow gel in my brows to set them, and I always curl my lashes. Last step is lip balm, and I am usually out the door!

PM- Coming home from a long day, I usually shower first thing if I don't have anything else planned. I only wash my hair every few days so most of the time its just a body shower. Right after I shower I apply any and all lotions for my night time routine. I use a heavier face moisturizer at night, every night, but I typically use the same eye cream as I do in the morning. I lather my whole body in the knock off version of Vaseline lotion sold by "Top Care", and then I usually lay in bed for a bit to let it all soak in. On nights when I face mask, this is usually the time it is done. In that case, I apply all of my face lotions afterward if needed.

The weekends are when I wear the most makeup. I will sometimes sneak some days at work in when I wake up with enough time but I am super lazy and I usually wake up at the last second. The only thing that changes in when I wear makeup is the use of makeup wipes at night! I always switch those out as well but my favorite at the moment are the Simple Micellar Water wipes.

What is the one product you could never live without?
Too Faced Born This Way Foundation

Lipstick, or Lipgloss?

Liquid or Powder foundation?

Liquid or Pencil Eyeliner?
Probably liquid. I usually don't wear eyeliner

Falsies or Mascara?

What is one beauty tip that you would like to share with everyone?
Skincare first!! Your makeup will only look as good as what is underneath!

What is your first memory when it comes to makeup?
Colored Eyeliner in middle school. My mom isn't a huge makeup wearer, so I had no real influence other than my friends. We thought we were super cool.

What is your favorite part of your routine?
Applying eyebrow gel. Its always my last step, and it makes me feel put together even when I'm not wearing makeup.

Hope this was as fun to read as it was to create for you guys. I can't wait to start interviewing many beautiful and inspiring people to bring you the real and raw reality of the every day person's beauty routine.

As always thanks for reading,
